Meet Hannah Yamane, Benefits Analyst at Nava

Give us the cliffs notes of your career, pre-Nava.

Moved back home after graduating college and had no idea what I wanted to do. I, randomly, landed a front desk position at a yacht club in town. After a few years, I realized the private club industry wasn’t for me and took an administrative assistant position at a health insurance broker firm. When I learned about Nava and saw what they were doing, I knew I had to be a part of this amazing team.

What made you want to join Nava?

The culture and the incredible people. Since day one, I have been overwhelmed with everyone’s kindness, intelligence, and appreciation for one another. Hands down, the best decision I’ve ever made!

Biggest piece of professional advice?

Improve, don’t perfect. Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to and that’s okay. We have to keep moving forward and learn from those mistakes.

How would you describe the Nava team in three words?

Innovative, genuine, fun

Favorite movie quote?

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Favorite hobby?

Cooking and baking! I grew up watching my Dad cook almost every day and he has taught me everything I know. I love being able to make people happy with something I made.

What's your favorite part of working remotely?

I love the flexibility of my work schedule. It has allowed me to take up hiking in the mornings and do other activities I wouldn’t, normally, be able to do. The ability to work in sweatpants is also an added bonus!
